All the Papagayo peninsula nudist beaches are located in the Los Ajaches nature reserve at the southern end of Lanzarote, near Playa Blanca. Admission to the park area is via a toll gate (marked on the map below) and costs 3 Euros for non-residents. However, the horseshoe-shaped beach of Playa de Papagayo is rarely used for nude sunbathing for two reasons. Firstly, it is overlooked by the large bar/cafe which sits on the peninsula (the only major building on the Punta del Papagayo) and, secondly, its reputation as the best beach on the island attracts many textile visitors. Playa del la Cera is on the other side of the bar/cafe and is also too overlooked to be used for nudism. However, as you can see on the map below, there are several nudist beaches in the area. They are called Playa del Congrio, Playa Mujeres and Playa del Pozo. Since the development of the caravan park, Puerto Muelas beach is rarely used for naturism, except perhaps on quiet days at the extreme ends. |
